Job Summary:
The Manager - System Operations (Platform Engineering) will lead a team responsible for designing, implementing, and managing scalable infrastructure. This role involves developing CI/CD pipelines, managing observability tools, and automating resources using Infrastructure as Code. The manager will ensure system availability, security, and compliance, troubleshoot technical issues, and stay updated with industry trends.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, implementation, and management of scalable, secure, and resilient infrastructure across multi-cloud and on-premise environments.
- Oversee the development and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines to automate the deployment and scaling of applications and infrastructure.
- Implement and manage observability tools to monitor system performance, detect anomalies, and ensure high availability.
- Utilize Infrastructure as Code to automate the provisioning and management of resources.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement best practices for system architecture, security, and compliance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to infrastructure, applications, and services.
- Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies to maintain efficient infrastructure.
- Mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
Qualifications/ Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 5-7 years of experience in platform engineering, system administration, or a related role, with at least 2 years in a leadership position.
- Experience in managing and delivering projects.
- Expertise in Cloud Services (AWS and Azure) and on-premise infrastructure management.
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Github Actions, GitLab CI, or similar.
- Proficiency in observability tools like New Relic, Grafana, or similar.
- Hands‑on experience with Infrastructure as Code, preferably Terraform.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash for automation and task management.
- Understanding of system, security, and compliance best practices.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
