Job summary

Havelock One Interiors is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the joinery workshop and metal fabrication facility. The role ensures maximum uptime, safety, and efficiency by leading technicians, executing preventative schedules, and troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in industrial maintenance with supervisory experience in joinery or metal fabrication, and holds a Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in industrial maintenance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role within joinery, furniture manufacturing and metal fabrication environments.
• Deep understanding of joinery and metalworking machinery, including CNC beam saws, CNC routers, edge banders, panel saws, spindle molders, hot press, finishing line and dust extraction systems.
• Metal fabrication equipment knowledge: CNC laser, press brakes, MIG/TIG welding, sand blasting, powder coating and compressors.
• Strong ability to read electrical schematics, hydraulic diagrams, and mechanical blueprints.
• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering, or equivalent technical trade certification.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and ability to work under pressure; familiarity with ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, train, and schedule daily tasks for maintenance technicians and assistants.
• Develop and execute PM schedules for all joinery and metalworking machinery.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment failures quickly.
• Coordinate with external contractors and OEM technicians for specialized machinery servicing.
• Manage spare parts inventory, ordering critical components to minimize downtime.
• Enforce strict health and safety protocols, ensuring guards and extraction systems function correctly.
• Oversee general factory infrastructure, including compressed air systems, power distribution, and dust extraction.

• Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities, strong communication, and the capacity to work under pressure to meet production deadlines. Familiar with ERP system.
