Job summary

Nass Corporation in Bahrain is seeking a skilled Draftsman to produce detailed electrical and mechanical drawings using AutoCAD for MEP projects. You will translate concepts and sketches into precise plans and ensure drawings meet project specifications and industry standards.

Working with engineers, project managers, and site teams, you will verify dimensions, update records, and support documentation through the project lifecycle, including shop and as-built drawings as required.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 3–5 years drafting experience in construction or MEP.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and drafting software.
• AutoCAD certification is preferred.

Draftsman

Location: Bahrain
Division & Department: Nass MEP

Role Summary

The Draftsman is responsible for preparing detailed technical drawings and plans for engineering and construction projects by converting concepts, sketches, and specifications into accurate computer-aided designs using AutoCAD software. The role supports project execution by ensuring drawings are accurate, compliant with project requirements, and aligned with industry standards while collaborating closely with engineers, project managers, and site teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed technical drawings and layouts using AutoCAD based on engineering designs, sketches, and specifications.
• Convert verbal instructions, rough sketches, and conceptual designs into precise technical drawings.
• Verify dimensions, calculations, and technical details to ensure drawing accuracy.
• Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and site teams to understand project requirements and incorporate revisions.
• Review drawings to ensure compliance with project specifications, applicable codes, and industry standards.
• Prepare shop drawings, as-built drawings, and construction documentation as required.
• Maintain and update drawing records, archives, and technical documentation.
• Assist in planning project workflows and material requirements based on drawing outputs.
• Identify design conflicts or operational issues and recommend practical solutions.
• Support project teams with technical documentation and drawing revisions throughout the project lifecycle.
• Prepare manuals and documentation related to product features, operation, and maintenance when required.
• Perform additional duties assigned by the Operations Manager, Project Manager, or Project Engineer.

Qualifications & Skills

• Diploma or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a Draftsman within the construction or MEP industry.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and other relevant drafting software.
• AutoCAD certification is preferred.
• Strong understanding of engineering drawings, shop drawings, and construction documentation.
• Knowledge of relevant industry codes, construction standards, and engineering principles.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams and site personnel.
