Job summary

KPMG Bahrain is seeking a Data Privacy & Protection Specialist to strengthen data governance, ensure regulatory compliance, and guide DPIAs for high-risk processing activities. You will engage regulators and stakeholders, shaping robust privacy frameworks across the organization.

Ideal candidates have 6+ years in IT audit or data compliance, with certifications such as CIPP, CISSP, or CISA, and a strong understanding of privacy regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT, Data Science, Computer Science/Engineering, Cyber/Information Security, or equivalent
• CIPP/CISSP/CISA certifications required or strongly preferred
• Minimum 6+ years of experience in IT audit, data compliance, cybersecurity, or information security
• Strong understanding of data privacy regulations and frameworks
• Ability to work across complex, multi-stakeholder environments
• Excellent communication skills with senior stakeholders and regulators

Responsibilities

• Lead data privacy compliance initiatives to meet evolving regulatory requirements
• Conduct privacy audits and assessments to identify gaps and strengthen controls
• Review Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) for high-risk processing
• Act as liaison with regulators and data protection authorities
• Build robust privacy frameworks, policies, and governance structures
• Provide insights on emerging risks for proactive compliance
