SVITZER is seeking a Tug Master - Captain to lead vessel operations, safety, and crew on towage assignments. You will ensure regulatory compliance, supervise crew performance, and coordinate complex tug operations to achieve safe and efficient results.

The role requires deep knowledge of naval safety systems, STCW certifications, and the ability to manage a diverse crew in a demanding environment. A commitment to continuous improvement and adherence to company SMS is essential.

Qualifications

• Master <500GT with NCV certificate.
• Basic Safety Training.
• Proficiency in Medical Care On Board Ship.
• Proficiency Survival Craft and Rescue Boat.
• Advanced Fire Fighting.
• Security Training for Seafarers.
• Valid Seafarer Medical.

Responsibilities

• Oversee safety and security of crew, vessel, and environment.
• Periodically review the safety management system and report deficiencies.
• Ensure statutory certifications are Maintained valid.
• Coordinate tug operations and attendance of crew as required.
• Comply with SMS and cyber security requirements.
• Manage tug crew discipline and maintenance as needed.
• Prepare operational reports and participate in safety training.
• Induction training for visitors and staff; drive continuous improvement.
