Job summary

Generac is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to lead day-to-day accounting and ensure accurate financial records across AP, AR, G/L and intercompany activity within a multinational context. You will coordinate month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, and reporting requirements while upholding internal controls.

Qualifications

  • University degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
  • Qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • 5–10 years' experience in Accounting/Finance, preferably in a multinational.
  • Strong knowledge of AP, AR, G/L and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Experience with month-end closing, VAT/tax compliance and audit support.
  • Experience with internal controls and SOX compliance preferred.
  • Excellent Excel skills and experience with ERP systems (Oracle).
  • High accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good organizational and time-management skills.
  • Proactive, dependable and able to work across Finance functions.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day accounting activities and maintain complete accurate and timely financial records.
  • Oversee Accounts Payable including supplier invoices, payments, reconciliations and queries.
  • Oversee Accounts Receivable including customer statements, allocations and follow-up of payments.
  • Maintain the general ledger and record financial transactions, including intercompany entries.
  • Coordinate month-end closing activities, journals, reconciliations and reporting.
  • Monitor and reconcile balance sheet accounts and resolve discrepancies.
  • Perform intercompany balance reporting and resolve differences.
  • Process online banking payments and support treasury activities.
  • Support banking requirements including bank guarantees and LC documentation.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting with supporting schedules and analysis.
  • Perform SOX controls self-assessments and related activities.
  • Prepare quarterly VAT returns and support local tax compliance.
  • Manage employee travel expenses and reports per policy.
  • Support credit limits and credit insurance requirements where needed.
  • Perform audits support by preparing schedules and coordinating responses.
  • Maintain organized finance records and provide ad hoc reporting.
  • Provide admin support to the Finance function and wider business as required.

Job description

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage day-to-day accounting activities and maintain complete accurate and timely financial records
  • Manage the Accounts Payable function including supplier invoice processing preparation of payments supplier reconciliations and resolution of supplier queries
  • Manage and support the Accounts Receivable function including customer statements receipt allocation account reconciliations and follow-up of outstanding customer payments
  • Maintain the general ledger and ensure accurate recording of financial transactions including invoices payments receipts expenses journals and intercompany transactions
  • Manage and coordinate month-end closing activities including preparation and review of journals reconciliations balance sheet schedules and financial reporting requirements
  • Monitor and reconcile balance sheet accounts investigate discrepancies and ensure timely resolution of reconciling items
  • Perform intercompany balance reporting and reconciliations with Group entities and coordinate the resolution of differences
  • Process online banking payments manage incoming customer receipts and support day-to-day treasury activities
  • Support banking requirements including bank guarantees Letters of Credit and related documentation where applicable
  • Support and coordinate the annual budgeting and forecasting process including preparation of supporting schedules and analysis
  • Perform SOX controls self-assessments and related control activities ensuring compliance with internal control requirements and audit readiness
  • Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns and support other local statutory and tax compliance requirements
  • Manage employee travel expenses and expense reports ensuring compliance with company policies and appropriate supporting documentation
  • Support the application and monitoring of customer credit limits and credit insurance requirements including requesting new or increased cover where required
  • Perform third-party and customer screening and other compliance checks where required
  • Support internal external and Group audits by preparing schedules reports and supporting documentation and coordinating responses to audit queries
  • Maintain accurate and organised finance records and documentation in accordance with company and statutory requirements
  • Provide administrative support to the Finance function and assist the wider business with ad hoc finance and reporting activities as required
Qualifications

University degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field. Qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA or equivalent). 5-10 years' experience in a similar Accounting/Finance role, preferably within a multinational company. Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices and procedures, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger accounting and balance sheet reconciliations. Practical experience with month-end closing, VAT/tax compliance and audit support. Experience with internal controls and SOX compliance is strongly preferred. Excellent skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and experience with ERP systems (preferably Oracle). High level of accuracy and attention to detail. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Good organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently and meet deadlines. Proactive, dependable and comfortable working across different areas of the Finance function. Excellent written and spoken English.
