Job summary

Imec is offering a Master internship focused on integrated photonic structures for UV spectroscopy. The project aims to design and simulate next-generation UV photonic devices on low-loss Al2O3 waveguides, measure on-chip fluorescence with 266nm excitation, and develop spectral filtering components.

You will work with state-of-the-art photonic design tools, exploring arrayed waveguide gratings, directional couplers, and ring resonators, with potential involvement in manufacturing steps depending

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level or Master-level student in a relevant field.
• Experience with photonic device design and simulations is desirable.
• Exposure to UV photonics and waveguide technology is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to design of integrated UV photonic devices at imec.
• Perform simulations, mask layout generation, and possibly nanofabrication tasks.
• Assist in analysis of fabricated devices and compare results with designs.
