The European Investment Bank (EIB) invites applications for a Transaction Processing Officer based in Luxembourg. The role combines financial operations with data analysis, automation and emerging technologies, supporting back-office transformation and risk management in a high-volume environment.

You will work within the Special Lending operations team, collaborating with Front Office, Risk, Legal, IT and Data teams, contributing to STP, DLT-based settlement, dashboards and KPIs.

Qualifications

• University degree in Finance, Mathematics, Engineering, Data Science or equivalent.
• Postgraduate studies or professional qualifications are advantageous.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Middle or Back Office is preferred.
• Excellent English and good French, with knowledge of another EU language an advantage.
• Strong analytical mindset and familiarity with data and operational datasets.

Responsabilités

• Execute end-to-end processing of lending portfolio transactions.
• Ensure timely confirmations, settlements and lifecycle event management.
• Perform controls to reduce operational, financial and reputational risk.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of control frameworks in automated environments.
• Analyse operational data to identify inefficiencies and improvement opportunities.
• Develop dashboards, reports and KPIs to monitor performance and risk.
• Increase straight-through processing through data-driven insights.
• Identify, design and implement automation initiatives (reconciliation, matching, workflow).
• Prototype data-driven and AI solutions; validate outputs from business and risk perspectives.
• Contribute to DLT-based settlement and post-trade solutions and assess impacts.
• Translate operational and regulatory needs into clear requirements.
• Support implementation of new tools and digital workflows.
• Strengthen control frameworks and operational resilience.
• Collaborate with Front Office, Risk, Legal, IT and Data teams on transformation topics.
