Wlgroup is seeking an experienced platform engineer to own and extend the core threat-intelligence platform in Mons, Belgium. You will run and improve Open-Source based deployments, manage exercises, and lead a small team of platform operators.

You’ll configure, monitor, and automate across Linux, Apache, MySQL/MariaDB, PHP, and Python, while maintaining strong security and documentation. Engagement with open-source communities and training are part of the role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with three years of related experience or ten years progressive expertise in this field.
• At least ten years of practical experience across the areas listed.
• Architecting deployment solutions.
• Coordinating the work of a small engineering group.
• System administration on LAMP servers — Linux, Apache, MySQL or MariaDB, PHP.
• Configuring web applications and scripting in Python.
• Building and reviewing MVC web applications, mainly in PHP with SQL behind them.
• Strong security principles and practices.

Responsabilités

• Proactively managing and maintaining the servers behind the platform to ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
• Standing up, configuring and running dedicated instances for exercises.
• Keeping software current and supporting test/validation during change management.
• Configuring and extending monitoring around every installation.
• Maintaining Ansible playbooks that build and configure the environment.
• Writing and improving documentation for readability and usefulness.
• Leading a team of platform operators during exercises, covering information flow and user management.
• Automating user management across service management and identity tooling.
