Job summary

ENGIBEX, a Belgian engineering consultancy, is seeking a qualified tester to join the R&D Test Center. You will operate and advance advanced test rigs for hybrid and electric powertrains, taking ownership of rigs and ensuring reliable performance.

The role emphasizes collaboration with validation, test engineering and other R&D teams, with a focus on developing hardware and software improvements, KPIs, and documentation to standardize testing across all rigs.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree with interest in mechatronic systems.
• Ability to understand complex systems in a test environment.
• Programming background is required.
• Knowledge of control theory, structural dynamics and high voltage applications.

Responsibilities

• Operate and develop advanced test rigs for hybrid powertrains.
• Own assigned test rigs, ensure high-quality operation and maintenance.
• Develop test rig environment (hardware and software) with focus on innovation.
• Serve as primary contact for operational issues and problem resolution.
• Collaborate with validation, test engineering, and R&D to optimize testing.
• Develop tools and documentation to standardize operations across rigs using KPIs.
• Work in the R&D Test Center assembling and validating automatic transmissions, hybrids, and EV powertrains.

Job Description

• Operate and develop the advanced test rigs by conducting tests to evaluate the performance for hybrid powertrains.
• Take ownership of assigned test rigs, ensuring high-quality operation, routine maintenance, necessary upgrades, and continuous efficiency improvements.
• Develop and improve the test rig environment, hardware as well as software, where focus is on innovation and precision in test performance. In regards of software, the test rig runs on real time platform in combination with Python and CANape as automation tools.
• Act as the primary contact for operational issues, resolving problems systematically to prevent recurrence.
• Collaborate closely with validation and test engineering, test rig operators, and various R&D departments to execute and optimize testing processes.
• Develop tools and documentation to standardize and ensure consistent operation across all test rigs by setting and using Key Performance Indicators to enhance testing quality and efficiency.
• You will be working in the R&D Test Center department where automatic transmissions, hybrid and full electric prototype powertrains are assembled and validated.

Profile / Requirements

• Engineering degree that shows interest for mechatronic systems.

• Knowledge of automotive testing, sensors, data acquisition, test equipment and electro mechanics
