Job summary

Pauwels Consulting seeks a Test Automation Engineer to support digital transformation for a leading legal and professional services client in Brussels. You will verify software functionality at both UI and API levels while collaborating with delivery teams.

The role emphasizes automation with Playwright, Groovy, TypeScript and ReadyAPI; you will craft test scripts, contribute to test estimates, and advance testing practices in an Agile, hybrid Brussels setting.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in software testing focusing on UI and API automation.
• Playwright, Groovy, TypeScript, ReadyAPI experience.
• Testing Java services, web services, REST APIs, and proxies.
• Proficient with Git version control.
• Experience in Agile environments.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Fluent in English with native-level Dutch or French and good understanding of the other language.

The role involves verifying software functionality on technical and functional levels while collaborating closely with delivery teams.

Responsibilities

• Review acceptance criteria to ensure the testability of requirements.
• Set up and maintain automation frameworks using tools such as Playwright.
• Develop and execute automated test scripts for both UI and API layers.
• Monitor bug tracking, perform issue follow-up, and deliver comprehensive test reports.
• Define test estimates and project plans in collaboration with the lead test manager.
• Contribute to the continuous enhancement of testing methodologies and deliverables.

Requirements

• You have 7+ years of experience in software testing with a focus on UI and API automation.
• You bring technical experience with Playwright, Groovy, TypeScript, and ReadyAPI.
• You possess proficiency in testing Java services, web services, REST APIs, and proxy services.
• You have knowledge of Git for version control.
• You're experienced in working within Agile environments.
• You're a proactive team player with strong analytical and communication skills.
• You are fluent in English with native-level proficiency in Dutch or French and a good understanding of the other (French or Dutch).

Nice to Haves

• Knowledge of Atlassian tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Xray.
• Familiarity with AI prompting in a quality assurance context.
