Job summary

BDO Belgium is seeking a Technology Risk Advisor to work with experienced colleagues on cyber security assessments, IT and application audits, and technology implementations. You will analyze clients’ IT environments, understand their risk landscape, and help strengthen controls.

You will contribute to building security governance, conducting ethical tests, and supporting certifications such as SOC2/ISO27001.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in relevant fields.
• Interest in Technology from cyber security to AI and risk.
• Flexible and able to juggle multiple deadlines.
• Proactive with good communication and team spirit.
• Fluent in Dutch and English; French is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to technology risk projects such as cyber security assessments and IT/application audits.
• Identify weaknesses in client controls and propose improvements.
• Improve clients’ security posture by implementing risk management and controls.
• Perform social engineering tests as part of cyber security assignments; support SOC2/ISO27001 certification processes.

What will you be doing?

As a Technology Risk Advisor, you will be working together with more experienced colleagues on various technology risk-related projects such as Cyber security assessments, IT and Application audits, Technological implementations and Data Privacy. All our projects aim to help our clients be better protected against cybersecurity threats. In practice, this involves:

• Gaining an understanding of a client’s IT environment and risk landscape, assessing the maturity of their IT systems and processes and making recommendations to further improve.
• Identifying and assessing weaknesses in clients’ control environments, applications or processes through interviews and the inspection of systems and documents.
• Helping clients improve their security posture by implementing risk management and security tools, improving their risk governance and building security controls.
• Launching ethical social engineering attacks at clients as part of cyber security assignments.
• Performing certification processes which involve assessing evidence and providing value-adding reports such as SOC2 or ISO27001 certificates.

What do you bring to the table?

• You will graduate with a Master’s degree in Commercial Engineering, Applied Economics, Applied Computer Science, Commercial Science, Risk Management, or similar fields.
• You have a healthy interest in everything to do with Technology ranging from cyber security to the impact of AI and emerging opportunities and risks related to Technology.
• If you were to describe yourself, one of the first terms to come to mind would be “flexible”. Juggling multiple deadlines or dealing with several different files on the same day? A piece of cake for you.
