Mind is seeking a Project Engineer to lead EPS installations at customer sites, coordinating with vendors and client engineers. You will manage project plans, collaborate cross-functionally, and support the sales team with technical demonstrations and customer requests.

Based in Belgium, you will travel to customer sites, hybrid work from Heverlee office a couple days a week, and collaborate with our Leuven headquarters.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in a technical role (pre-/post-sales, project engineer, field service) or proven skillset.
• Nice to have background in material handling or computer vision.
• Experience in client-facing roles.
• Excellent communication, both verbal and written.

Responsabilités

• Manage installation and bring-up of EPS installations at customer sites and guide customer engineers.
• Construct, follow and communicate project plans to stakeholders; adapt as needed.
• Set up collaboration between forklift vendors and Essensium for your projects.
• Configure, calibrate and validate the system at customer sites.
• Provide 1st line technical support to customers.
• Build expertise in SafeTrack products.
• Provide technical and commercial support including demos at customers and at tradeshows; assist sales with presentations.

We are looking for a Project Engineer for Essensium - an expanding product development company that designs, produces, sells and provides service for Essensium Real-Time Positioning Solution for forklifts (EPS - Essensium Positioning System). SafeTrack is the collision-avoidance application based on computer vision & AI technology. We are a solid and healthy company with brilliant people, R&D and engineering culture and flat no-nonsense culture. We do everything in-house, 100% “made in Belgium”.

• Location: you live in the Leuven, Gent, Antwerp or Brussels area and you can easily travel to customers’ sites in these areas
• Hybrid/remote: you will travel to customers sites 3 days/week and work from our office in Heverlee approximately 2 days/week.
• Languages: English is a must, Dutch or/and French is very appreciated (one of the 2 languages is key)
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, mechatronics or computer engineering

Skills

• You preferably have 2+ years of experience in a technical role (as a pre- or post sales engineer, project engineer, field service engineer, etc) or are able to provide proof of the necessary skillset.
• Nice to have: professional background in the material handling space (warehouses, supply chain, forklifts, automated guided vehicles) or in computer vision
• You have experience in client-facing roles
• You have excellent communication skills and communicate clearly, verbally and in writing
• You are interested in mechanics, electronics, computer vision, positioning systems, safety applications
• You can work autonomously without micro-management
• Excellent problem-solving skills, identify bottlenecks and issues before they appear
• Work systematically and accurately, and according to a pre-defined planning
• Flexible and hands-on
• You can prioritize and manage several open issues
• You have a driver’s license
• Some experience with Linux and Python is a plus, but not a must.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the installation & bring-up of EPS installations at customer sites, guide our clients’ engineers during the installations
• Construct, follow and communicate project plans to involved stakeholders. Adapt if necessary while ensuring everyone is informed.
• Set up collaborations between the forklift vendors and Essensium for your responsible projects
• Configure, calibrate and validate the system at the customer site
• Provide 1st line technical support to customers
• Build up an expert knowledge of our SafeTrack products
• Collect customer feedback to improve our products.
• Provide technical commercial support -> You can take charge of demos at customers and tradeshows. Moreover, you assist the sales team with presentations, documentation and customer requests.

Working environment

You’ll be working independently visiting our clients’ sites, in collaboration with the project engineering team at the headquarters in Leuven, Belgium. Presence at our office in Heverlee is expected 2 days per week, also for onboarding, trainings, for team meetings and for team buildings :)
