Job summary

SEIDOR in Brussels seeks a Technical Expert to design end-to-end solutions aligned with client references, architecture guidelines, and cloud-native patterns. You will select technologies, define integration approaches, and produce comprehensive design and architectural documents.

The role requires strong expertise in security, performance, observability, and governance, with hands-on experience in Kubernetes, ArchiMate/UML, and API contracts.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree (EQF level 7) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent.
• Minimum 15 years of IT related experience.
• 7 years of experience producing Solution Architecture Documents, High Level and Detailed Design Documents.
• 7 years of experience defining integration approaches and API contracts (e.g. REST, event-driven architectures).
• 7 years of experience addressing non-functional requirements including security, performance, scalability and observability.
• 5 years of experience with enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g. TOGAF) and modelling notations (e.g. ArchiMate, UML).
• 3 years of experience presenting and defending solution designs before an architecture governance body.

Responsibilities

• Design end-to-end solutions aligned with customer architecture and guidelines.
• Select technologies, patterns and integration approaches for proposed solutions.
• Address non-functional requirements including security and performance.
• Produce Architecture Documents, High-Level and Detailed Design Documents.

WHAT WILL YOU DO IN YOUR DAY-TO-DAY?

• Design end-to-end solutions aligned with the customer’s Reference Architecture and Architecture Guidelines
• Select technologies, patterns and integration approaches for proposed solutions
• Address non-functional requirements: security, performance, scalability, maintainability, observability
• Produce Solution Architecture Documents, High-Level and Detailed Design Documents
• Produce Architecture Decision Records for significant design choices
• Define integration design specifications and API contracts
• Produce component, sequence, deployment and data-flow diagrams
• Present designs to the customer’s Architecture Review Board and follow up on resulting actions
• Verify compliance of implementations against the customer’s Architecture Guidelines
• Maintain architecture documentation throughout the solution lifecycle

WHAT DO WE EXPECT FROM YOU?

The Consultant Must Demonstrate Experience In

• Experience with cloud-native and containerised architectures (e.g. Kubernetes, microservices)
• Experience with architecture governance processes in a large or public-sector organisation
• Experience designing solutions in at least one of the customer’s business domains (event management, safety and security, or document management, including integration with the related business platforms (e.g. event management, access control or document management systems).
