Qargo is seeking a Team Lead to join our Ghent, Belgium engineering team. This role blends people leadership, delivery ownership and technical steering with real autonomy and impact.

You will lead engineers on the order management and invoicing domain, guiding technical decisions and coordinating with Product to shape the roadmap, while staying closely connected to the team in the office.

Responsabilités

• Lead a team of engineers working on Qargo's order management and invoicing domain, from initial order entry through final invoicing.
• Steer technical decisions and ensure the right tradeoffs, staying close to the work to spot risks early.
• Own people and feedback responsibility: coach, give regular feedback, and help the team grow.
• Collaborate with Product to shape and sequence the roadmap, translating it into a clear execution plan for your team.
• Be the main point of contact between your team and Product, Design, and other engineering teams, keeping priorities aligned.
• Be present in the Ghent office to lead effectively and stay connected day-to-day.

About the Role

• Team leads at Qargo are more than an experienced teammate, the role combines operational leadership, people/feedback responsibility, and technical leadership.

• You'll organize your team's work, plan allocation, manage dependencies, and make sure delivery runs smoothly.

• You'll give regular feedback and help steer the team's growth and ways of working.

• You'll guide technical direction and make sure the right tradeoffs get discussed. What matters is technical credibility to know decisions are sound and the team is well supported.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead a team of engineers working on Qargo's order management and invoicing domain, from initial order entry through to final invoicing.

• Steer technical decisions and ensure the team discusses the right tradeoffs, staying close enough to the work to spot risks early.

• Own people and feedback responsibility: coach, give regular feedback, and help the team grow.

• Collaborate closely with the Product team to shape and sequence the roadmap, translating it into a clear, deliverable execution plan (priorities, scope, and dependencies) for your team.

• Act as the main point of contact between your team and Product, Design, and other engineering teams, keeping priorities aligned and dependencies unblocked.

• Be present enough in the office to lead effectively and stay connected to your team day-to-day.

Skills & Experience

• Proven experience leading a team both process-wise and technically, comfortable owning planning and delivery as well as steering technical direction.

• Strong technical depth, with the willingness to work beyond a narrow specialty.

• Experience giving feedback and helping steer a team, formally or informally, with a genuine interest in helping others grow.

• Pragmatic and ownership-driven, with good judgment on balancing speed, quality, and maintainability.

• Office-first mindset: able to be in our Ghent office to lead, collaborate, and stay closely connected to the team in person.
