Job summary

Qargo is seeking a Support Engineer in Ghent to bridge Customer Support and Engineering. You’ll resolve technical issues quickly, learn how our SaaS Transport Management Platform works under the hood, and help scale support as we grow within a fast‑moving international team.

The role offers hybrid working, ownership of complex problems, and opportunities to learn AI‑assisted tools, read logs, write queries, and influence product improvements with clear, concise explanations in English.

Qualifications

• Degree in IT or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Ability to read code, analyze logs, and write basic SQL.
• Strong English communication and problem-solving mindset.
• Experience with AI tools for troubleshooting and process improvement.

Responsibilities

• Act as second-line support bridging customer support and engineering.
• Triage and prioritise internal support requests for speed.
• Analyse issues, read code/logs, identify root causes.
• Suggest and implement improvements to support workflows.
• Provide feedback on product improvements from recurring cases.
• Help reduce time engineers spend on support tasks.
• Increase cases solvable automatically.

About The Role

In this role, you’re part of the engineering team and you’ll be the bridge between our Customer Support and Engineering teams. You’ll make sure technical issues are handled smoothly, quickly, and effectively, while helping us improve how we support our customers internally.

This is a great opportunity for someone who’s curious, analytical, and loves solving complex problems. You’ll work closely with our software engineering team, learn how our product works under the hood, and make a real impact on how we scale support at Qargo.

Your impact

• Act as second-line support, bridging the gap between customer support and engineering
• Triage and prioritise internal support requests so they’re handled quickly and effectively
• Analyse issues, read code and logs, and identify root causes
• Suggest and implement improvements to make support workflows more efficient — both manual and automated
• Provide feedback on potential product improvements based on recurring support cases
• Help reduce the time engineers spend on support tasks
• Increase the number of cases that can be solved automatically

What You Bring

• A degree in IT or related field (or equivalent experience)
• You can read and understand code, analyse logs, write basic SQL queries and think in terms of distributed systems
• Strong communication skills in English
• A curious, problem‑solving mindset, you genuinely enjoy digging into issues and figuring things out
• You’re confident experimenting with AI tools (e.g. to analyse logs, structure information, speed up troubleshooting or improve workflows) and you actively look for ways to use AI to work smarter
• Can translate technical details into clear, simple explanations
• Experience in structuring data or reporting on support cases is a plus
• Experience in a SaaS or tech environment is a plus
