Qargo TMS in Ghent is hiring a Site Reliability Engineer to design, build, and operate scalable cloud infrastructure with a software engineering mindset. You will automate deployment, improve reliability, and reduce manual operations across the platform.
You will collaborate with backend teams, focus on observability, and optimize databases like PostgreSQL and Firestore while embracing a culture of learning and knowledge sharing.
Qargo is a cloud-based (SaaS) Transport Management Platform. We are a scale‑up based in London and Ghent (Belgium), rapidly expanding across Europe. The platform is an ‘all‑in‑one system’, handling everything from initial order entry to final invoicing. It optimises planning and has a built‑in AI feature that automates lengthy manual tasks. Qargo is designed to help modern logistics operations run more efficiently, while increasing profitability and sustainability.
We’re looking for a Site Reliability Engineer to join our team in Ghent. At Qargo, reliability is built through software. As a Site Reliability Engineer, you’ll approach infrastructure and operations with a software engineering mindset, designing systems, writing code, and automating processes to ensure our platform is scalable, reliable, and efficient.
You’ll work on improving our platform’s reliability by building internal tooling, enhancing our deployment systems, and evolving our cloud architecture. Rather than manually operating systems, you’ll focus on reducing operational overhead through automation and engineering solutions.
You’ll collaborate closely with backend engineers and other engineering teams to ensure our systems are designed with reliability and scalability in mind from the start. This role offers a strong mix of backend engineering, infrastructure work, and problem‑solving, with plenty of ownership and impact on how our platform behaves in production.
