Job summary

WLG in Mons, Belgium seeks a senior systems engineer to design deployable systems, automate them, and lead incident response. You will work in a DevOps team handling CI, deployment automation, monitoring, and incident resolution across on-site or remote exercises.

You will document designs, manage changes, and train colleagues, while guiding support teams on complex projects and serving as a senior escalation point.

Qualifications

• 5+ years supporting deployable or large enterprise environments.
• Centralised storage (FC, iSCSI, SAS) or hyperconverged tech such as vSAN; VMware ESXi and vCenter.
• Recent Windows Server and Red Hat Linux; high availability and patching.
• Active Directory across federated domains; DNS; server hardening and Group Policy.
• Remote Desktop or similar provisioning.
• At least 3 years in a DevOps team with Bash or PowerShell and automation tools; solid TCP/IP and ITIL Service Transition.

You make sure it does.A multinational defence organisation in Mons runs deployable communication and information systems: servers, storage and directory services that are packed up, shipped and switched on wherever they are needed. It is looking for a senior systems engineer who designs these systems, automates them and is the person others call when something refuses to behave.

What You Would Be Doing

• Contributing to the design, build and delivery of deployable systems engineering projects
• Working in a DevOps team: continuous integration, change management, automated deployment and monitoring
• Acting as the senior engineer and final problem solver for incidents, requests and problem management
• Supporting the technical planning and running of exercises, on-site or remotely
• Documenting designs, implementations and troubleshooting guides, and training colleagues on the job
• Leading technical support teams on projects and exercises, and standing in for senior staff when needed

What you would bring

• At least 5 years supporting deployable or large enterprise environments
