Fluxys is seeking a Strategy Officer to join the Strategy & Sustainability directorate. You will monitor global energy developments, shape Fluxys' annual strategy, and craft clear strategy materials with Internal and External Communication.

You will support multiple teams on priority projects, perform data-driven analyses, and participate in external working groups to ensure alignment with Fluxys' guiding narrative.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in engineering sciences, business engineering, management or related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in business-related roles or energy markets/decarbonisation.
• Strong ability to translate analysis into executive-level insights and presentations.

For the Strategy & Business Intelligence department, we’re looking for aStrategy Officer(m/f/x). Part of the Strategy & Sustainability directorate, the department monitors global energy market developments, assesses their implications for Fluxys and supports the development of a robust Group strategy.

Job purpose

The Strategy Officer supports informed decision-making by Fluxys management. The role contributes to internal strategic studies, monitors energy market scenarios, external studies and publications likely to affect Fluxys’ position, and actively supports coordination across the Fluxys Group and the drafting of Fluxys’ annual strategy update.

Your responsibilities

• You monitor key developments in global energy systems to analyse how the energy transition is unfolding, highlighting potential consequences on Fluxys’ business using scenarios.
• You drive the process for Fluxys’ yearly strategy update, consolidating insights from internal and external stakeholders into a clear strategic narrative.
• You translate this narrative into clear strategy materials, in close collaboration with Internal and External Communication.
• You also support other teams within Fluxys (e.g., Public Affairs or Business Development) on priority projects. You provide outside-in analyses, identify and challenge strategic implications, help build clear communication materials.
• You perform data-driven analyses and ad hoc strategic studies, help ensure consistency between Fluxys’ internal and external messaging and the Group strategy, and represent Fluxys in selected external working groups in line with agreed strategic positions.
• Where needed, you support in the scoping of projects require external expertise, contribute to the selection of consultants, and challenge them throughout the project. You ensure insights are captured and disseminated to the right stakeholders within the organisation.

About you

• You hold a master’s degree in engineering sciences, business engineering, management, or a related field
• You have at least 3 years of experience in roles that are business-related or linked to energy markets / decarbonisation. Previous experience in consulting or in a strategy department is a strong asset.
• You are comfortable moving from in-depth analysis of complex market, policy or technology issues to clear, executive-level insights.
• You collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders including senior management and can produce clear and compelling presentations.
• You have a strong understanding of how energy markets work and are intellectually curious: topics may range from EU carbon pricing reform and hydrogen market development in China to global LNG market dynamics.
• You have strong analytical skills and is an experienced Excel user.
• You are fluent in Dutch, French as well as English
