Job summary

We ARE Renewables in Belgium is seeking a Strategic Buyer – Substations Works to lead end-to-end procurement for major electrical substations projects. You will publish market opportunities, analyse quotations, negotiate terms, manage tendering procedures and drive contract awards, ensuring alignment with project requirements, schedule and budget.

Responsibilities

• Managing the entire procurement process, including market publication, quotation analysis, negotiations, bid evaluation and project award.
• Taking the lead in setting up and managing tendering procedures.
• Defining and implementing project procurement strategies based on market knowledge.
• Working closely with colleagues and internal experts to understand project requirements and align them with market opportunities.
• Developing both market and technical expertise within your category, contributing to the category strategy that will determine its medium- and long-term direction.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify business needs, improvements and opportunities.
• Actively contributing to procurement objectives and cross-functional initiatives through your category and market knowledge
• Sharing market and category knowledge with internal stakeholders when negotiating contractual terms and conditions.
• Supporting project teams and Contract Managers with the commercial and contractual follow-up of ongoing projects.
• Monitoring and negotiating additional costs charged by contractors.
• Ensuring compliance with contractual conditions relating to quality, planning, safety, etc.
• Building sustainable relationships with contractors in close cooperation with the Supplier Manager.
• Contributing to the implementation of new ways of working within the Works team.
• Coordinating with your counterpart at 50Hertz in Berlin, Germany, to exchange knowledge and insights.
