Job summary

Pauwels Consulting is seeking a seasoned QA professional to ensure the quality of software solutions within a digital transformation program. You will define test strategies, review requirements, and lead test design, automation, and reporting across delivery teams.

The role requires 8+ years in software testing (manual & automated), strong API testing expertise, and advanced Java/REST/XML/XSD/WSDL knowledge. Hybrid work from Brussels, ASAP start, 14 months contract with potential for permanency.

Qualifications

8+ years of professional software testing experience including manual and automated testing.
Extensive expertise in defining test strategies and API testing.
Advanced knowledge of Java, REST, XML, XSD, and WSDL.
5+ years analyzing and modeling complex business processes.
Hands-on experience with testing tools such as Playwright and ReadyAPI.
Experience with Jira and Xray for test management and defect tracking.
Groovy Script or equivalent scripting language for automation.
Experience in Agile development environments.
Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field.
Fluent in English and either Dutch or French, with basic knowledge of the other language.

Responsibilities

Define and implement comprehensive test strategies to ensure software reliability.
Review requirements and analysis documents to set testing priorities.
Design, execute, and manage complex test cases, scenarios, and plans.
Automate test cases for APIs and UIs using specialized tools.
Monitor defect lifecycles, resolve issues, and produce quality reports.
Assist teams in estimating testing efforts and refining deliverables.
Drive continuous improvement of testing processes and QA standards.
