Prothya Biosolutions in Brussels is hiring a Sr Laboratory Coordinator to ensure smooth R&D lab operations, oversee equipment, and manage stock effectively. The role requires a proactive individual to collaborate with stakeholders, maintain laboratory standards, and lead the implementation of efficient processes.

Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field and at least 3 years of experience in a similar position. Strong organizational, communication skills in French/Dutch/English, and familiarity with lab regulations are essential.

Sr Laboratory Coordinator in the R&D Laboratory Team.

As a Sr Laboratory Coordinator, you ensure the smooth daily operation of our R&D laboratory. You oversee equipment, facilities, stock management, and organizational excellence, working closely with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Developing and optimizing processes (early to late stage)
• Creating new analytical methods and applications
• Providing process and analytical expertise
• Supporting deviations and investigations through lab‑scale studies
• Evaluating new technologies
• Maintain and improve laboratory facilities in line with company strategy and EHS requirements
• Define and manage R&D master plans (maintenance, calibration, equipment replacement)
• Ensure proper maintenance, calibration, and qualification of laboratory equipment
• Lead the implementation and oversight of 5S in the R&D laboratory
• Manage laboratory data and documentation (equipment, facilities, 5S, stock)
• Oversee ordering of materials and consumables to ensure full operational readiness
• Identify and compare suppliers for materials and equipment
• Prepare, present, and defend CAPEX requests at OPS and STEERCO meetings

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related field
• 3+ years of experience in a similar role or in process development (pharma/biotech)
• Strong organizational and task‑management skills
• Ability to work autonomously
• Excellent communication skills in French and/or Dutch, and English
• Proficiency with MS Office and relevant software
• Familiarity with GxP and SOP writing
• Analytical mindset, solution‑oriented, and a strong team player
• Experience with Lean / 5S is a plus
