Prothya Biosolutions Belgium is seeking a Lead Engineer / Senior Manager System Engineering to act as a system architect across multiple domains (equipment, utilities, automation) and as a technical system owner. You will guide the Engineering team as SME and drive roadmaps and lifecycle governance.

You should have a Master in engineering and at least 8 years of total experience, including 3 years in pharma, with strong GMP/GEP knowledge and proven leadership in cross-functional projects.

Qualifications

• Master degree in engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum of 8 years total professional experience; at least 3 years in a similar pharmaceutical role.
• Knowledge of GMP and GEP guidelines is required.

Responsabilités

• Define future-oriented roadmaps for multiple domains (equipment, utilities, automation).
• Act as technical system owner and lead design reviews throughout lifecycle.
• Provide SME level technical support to engineers across domains.

Reports to job title:Senior manager System Engineering

Purpose of the job

Als Lead engineer, you act as a system architect concerning 1 or more application domains (equipment’s, utilities, automation…) and as a technical system owner of several technical systems. You support the Engineering team as SME (subject matter expert).

Accountabilities

Key activity

1. System architect

• You define a future oriented roadmap concerning 1 or more application domains (equipment’s, utilities, automation…).
• You follow the GMP/industry trends to be able to adjust the roadmaps accordingly.
• You perform feasibility studies and capacity modeling on your application domain to support (strategic) business cases.

2. Technical system owner:

• You develop expertise on the technical systems you work on, so that you can stay responsible of their design along the whole lifetime of the system.
• You perform design reviews including proposed updates of drawings and life cycle documents.

You support operations in case of issues (failure analysis and root cause investigations) in close collaboration with the process owners.

3. SME

• You give detailed technical support to other engineers concerning 1 or more application domains (equipment’s, utilities, automation…).

4. Projects:

• You prepare business cases to improve your systems.
• You use project management principles and system/documentation life cycle principles to assure successful implementations of the roadmaps/projects.

Leadership

• Lead cross-departmental project teams
• Ensures a safe, secure, and healthy work environment.
• Ensures collaboration within the team and other departments

Stakeholder Management (example)

• You are able to coordinate/align with your internal stakeholders (other departments).
• You are able to coordinate/align with your external stakeholders (suppliers).

Education, experience and skills

• Master in engineering technology (ING) or Master of engineering science (IR) or equivalent
• Preferably, you have 3 years of experience in a similar position in the pharmaceutical sector (a minimum of a total of 8 years professional experience);

Skills

• You have demonstrable and in-depth knowledge of 1 or more application domains (equipment, utilities, electricity, automation, OT, …)
• You have up-to-date knowledge of European and American GMP and GEP (Good Manufacturing/Engineering Practices) guidelines.
• You have knowledge of project management systems and tools (eg MS Office, MS Project)
• You have a good knowledge of English combined with Dutch or French (both spoken and written);
• You have a safety and quality mindset
• You are proactive.
• You are persuasive, communicative, and collaborative;
• You are analytical and good at solving problems;
• You are result-oriented and decisive;
