Job summary

Community Consulting is seeking a Splunk & Linux System Engineer to join its European operations in Brussels. You will administer Linux infrastructure and Splunk production environments, work with IT teams to ensure reliable, secure services for a large-scale enterprise.

The role requires 4+ years in IT operations, 2+ years Splunk administration, strong Red Hat Enterprise Linux expertise, and scripting with Bash or Python. English plus French or Dutch language skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in IT operations, managing Linux-based infrastructure in large-scale environments.
• 2+ years hands-on Splunk administration and production support.
• Strong experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux or equivalent.
• Knowledge of Splunk data ingestion, SPL, dashboards, alerts and indexing.
• Experience with Ansible Automation Platform and CI/CD concepts.
• Git-based workflows and familiarity with IaC principles.
• Knowledge of ITIL incident/change management is a plus.
• Bash and/or Python scripting ability.
• French or Dutch language proficiency plus English.

Responsibilities

• Administer, maintain and troubleshoot Linux-based infrastructure and Splunk production environments.
• Manage incidents, service requests, routine maintenance and platform changes.
• Design, deploy and improve Splunk data ingestion, forwarders, apps and add-ons.
• Configure indexes, sourcetypes, parsing, dashboards, reports and alerts.
• Monitor Splunk platform health and resolve ingestion and search issues.
• Perform root cause analysis using Splunk data and Linux diagnostics.
• Automate through Ansible, Bash and Python; support containerized and virtualized infra.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain secure, compliant services.
• Document changes and escalate complex issues as needed.
