Pauwels Consulting in Brussels is seeking an experienced Linux and Splunk specialist to support Linux-based systems and manage the Splunk platform, enhancing operational visibility, performance and service availability. Responsibilities include incident resolution, designing Splunk solutions, root cause analysis, automation through scripting and IaC, cross-functional collaboration, and evaluating new Splunk capabilities through R&D activities.

Fluency in English with Dutch or French is required.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of Red Hat Enterprise Linux infrastructure experience in large-scale environments.
• 2+ years of Splunk administration including production support and health monitoring.
• Practical knowledge of Ansible for playbooks, roles and automation workflows.
• Red Hat Satellite 6.x provisioning, patching and lifecycle management experience.
• SPL for searches, dashboards, alerts and operations troubleshooting.
• Git-based workflows with GitLab or Azure DevOps.
• Familiarity with Podman or OCI containers and container lifecycle operations.
• Scripting in Bash or Python for monitoring and remediation automation.
• Experience with ITIL processes including incident, problem and change management.
• Fluent English with professional/native proficiency in Dutch or French.

The project involves supporting Linux-based systems and managing the Splunk platform to enhance operational visibility, system performance, and service availability.

Responsibilities

• Resolve incidents and service requests affecting Linux systems and Splunk services using advanced diagnostics.

Requirements

• 4+ years experience managing Red Hat Enterprise Linux infrastructure in large-scale enterprise environments.
• 2+ years experience with Splunk administration, including production support and platform health monitoring.
• You possess strong experience with Ansible Automation Platform for playbooks, roles, and automation workflows.
• You bring practical knowledge of Red Hat Satellite 6.x for provisioning, patching, and lifecycle management.
• You have proficiency in SPL for searches, dashboards, alerts, and operational troubleshooting.
• You possess experience with Git-based workflows using tools such as GitLab or Azure DevOps.
• You have familiarity with Podman or OCI containers and container lifecycle operations.
• You bring solid scripting skills in Bash or Python for monitoring and remediation automation.
• You're experienced in working within ITIL processes, including incident, problem, and change management.
• You are fluent in English with professional or native proficiency in Dutch or French.

Nice to Haves

• Experience with VMware virtual environments and NetApp storage systems.
• Knowledge of endpoint protection tools such as Trend Micro Deep Security or ClamAV.
• Familiarity with network platforms including Palo Alto, Check Point, F5, or InfoBlox.
• Exposure to hardware lifecycle management and firmware updates.
