Imec, the world-leading nanoelectronics research center, invites applications for a Quantum Device Engineer to join the Spin Qubit team at its Leuven, Belgium headquarters. You will help design and characterize spin qubit devices and contribute to integrating quantum components in a scalable platform.

You will work with cross-disciplinary teams, publish results, mentor students, and help transform laboratory breakthroughs into industrial-scale solutions, in a multicultural, inclusive

Qualifications

  • You are a Quantum Device engineer with a strong publication record.
  • PhD in physics or Electrical Engineering, preferably in spin qubit research.
  • Solid understanding of quantum device physics.
  • Knowledge of advanced CMOS technology and cryogenic temperatures.
  • Ability to communicate complex concepts with a didactic and rigorous approach.
  • Enjoy working in multi-disciplinary and cross-cultural teams.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with multiple stakeholders.
  • This position is located at imec HQ in Leuven, Belgium and relocation is welcomed.

Responsabilités

  • Conception and design of single and multi-qubit spin qubit devices.
  • Help develop roadmaps for technology modules with integration and fabrication teams.
  • Cryogenic characterization of qubit performance metrics and lifetimes.
  • Development of measurement infrastructure with dilution refrigerators and low-temperature wafer prober.
  • Contribute to and guide integration leveraging imec know-how on scaling nodes.
  • Engage with imec partners via internal reporting and bilateral projects.
  • Define experiments and clearly interpret results for stakeholders.
  • Foster international academic collaborations and research projects.
  • Contribute to scientific output via publications in high-impact journals.
  • Mentor students.
