Job summary

Arcsec seeks an Algorithm Engineer to turn optical sensor data into actionable space-object information. You will advance prediction, detection, tracking, and orbit estimation, moving from theory to tested software on flight-representative hardware.

You will design real-time algorithms for embedded platforms and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate sensors and processing hardware at international projects with ESA.

Qualifications

• Master degree in aerospace, CS, electrical engineering, applied mathematics, physics or related field.
• Strong algorithm development and tested scientific software.
• Experience with Git, software testing and collaborative development.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.
• Experience with AI-assisted workflows and actively use and improve them.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and validate algorithms for object prediction, optical detection and multi-frame tracking.
• Develop angles-only orbit estimation, state estimation and uncertainty propagation methods.
• Build simulation and test pipelines using synthetic, laboratory and observational datasets.
• Optimize algorithms for real-time execution on resource-constrained embedded hardware.
• Define performance metrics, analyse results and document design decisions and interfaces.
• Integrate algorithms with optical sensors and processing hardware in close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
