Solution Architect H&AM (Hospital & Ambulatory Monitoring)

Job Description

The Solution Architect H&AM (Hospital & Ambulatory Monitoring) is the design authority for Philips' Hospital & Ambulatory Monitoring portfolio within the assigned region. The Solution Architect translates customer and business needs into complete, useable scalable and executable solution designs, and remains accountable for design quality from opportunity through delivery and service handover. The role creates structure, makes architectural decisions and orchestrates the specialists required to prepare each solution successfully.

The SA is accountable for orchestration, architecture, framework governance, design quality, validation requirements and portfolio readiness. The SA is not the default owner of routine installation, configuration, troubleshooting, incident handling, administration or operational support, but is a critical directional role by delivering key design and validation deliverables for the portfolio and individual complex projects. Other executional project delivery or service activities remain with the relevant delivery and or service teams, under the architectural direction and controls established by the SA.

Your role:
  • Own portfolio design readiness: maintain an end-to-end view of the portfolio in your region, identify design and preparation gaps, assign owners and drive timely closure before execution.
  • Act as design authority: define the solution architecture, make or facilitate key design decisions, manage exceptions and ensure scalability, security, reliability and interoperability.
  • Involved in pre-sales of complex solution offerings from a design perspective. This can also include the design orchestration of demo's, showcases and other customer pre-sales alignment.
  • Own and continuously improve the architecture, validation and solution-onboarding frameworks, including standards, templates, decision criteria, controls and required evidence.
  • Own solution-design and Statement of Work of the complex projects: ensure scope, assumptions, dependencies, integrations, infrastructure, responsibilities, acceptance criteria and handover requirements are complete and contractually aligned.
  • Define, execute and control the validation (strategy) and required controls. The SA determines what must be validated and approves the evidence; project, technical and engineering teams perform the agreed execution.
  • Orchestrate Sales, project management, technical consultancy, engineering, clinical expertise in order to achieve a complete implemented design at the customer.
  • Develop portfolio capability by converting recurring issues, in alignment with TSS, new products and market developments into reusable design patterns, knowledge, roadmap input and improved ways of working.
  • Design deliverables are the basis of the complete as-built file which will be adjusted if the solution is upgraded or built from scratch in case of initial delivery.
You're the right fit if:
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in solution architecture in areas such as Healthcare Technology, Healthcare Analytics, Healthcare IT, Clinical Practice.
  • Bachelor's / or Master's Degree in Health Science, Business, Clinical Practice or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of solution architecture across products, services, IT infrastructure, integrations and healthcare technology environments.
  • Proven experience analyzing customer requirements and existing technical environments, translating business needs into scalable, reliable, secure, and cost-effective solution designs.
  • Demonstrated experience creating and maintaining solution documentation, architecture templates, and Statements of Work (SoWs), including the definition of scope, assumptions, responsibilities, and deliverables.
  • Experience leading cross-functional solution development and stakeholder engagement, collaborating effectively with customers, Sales, Delivery, Engineering, and Service teams to drive alignment and decision-making.
  • Strong commercial and analytical judgment, with experience balancing customer outcomes, technical quality, risk, timelines, and budget considerations when developing and delivering solutions.
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment, proactively resolving issues and applying knowledge of market trends and emerging technologies to improve business and customer outcomes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (minimum C1 level) and French (close to native). Dutch is an advantage.
