Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in real-time embedded software development.
• Strong background in complex system development.
• Experience in safety-critical environments (railway, aerospace, automotive, etc.).
• Proven experience in technical leadership or coordination.
• Fluent in English and French.

Responsabilités

• Lead and organize software development activities within your scope.
• Contribute to software specifications and architecture design based on system requirements.
• Design, develop, and maintain software components (design, coding, reviews, testing).
• Perform integration and functional testing using both physical and simulation platforms.
• Drive continuous improvement of tools, processes, and methodologies.
• Stay current with the latest technological trends.
• Act as a key interface between software teams, program management, and other stakeholders.
• Support planning, progress tracking, and QCD objectives.
• Participate in change management processes (CCB).
• Identify risks and ensure proper escalation.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards (railway).
• Contribute to software development plans and reviews.
• Promote best practices, standardization, and re-use.

Akkodis is currently looking for a Software Technical Lead to join an innovative team working on a safety-critical embedded system in the railway sector. In this role, you will contribute to the development of a Radio Block Center (RBC) system — a key component that continuously supervises train positioning and ensures safe train operations through radio communication. This position offers a strong combination of hands-on technical work and leadership, within a multidisciplinary and international team..

Your responsibilities

Technical Leadership & Software Development

• Lead and organize software development activities within your scope
• Contribute to software specifications and architecture design based on system requirements
• Design, develop, and maintain software components (design, coding, reviews, testing)
• Perform integration and functional testing using both physical and simulation platforms
• Drive continuous improvement of tools, processes, and methodologies
• Stay current with the latest technological trends

Coordination & Stakeholder Management

• Act as a key interface between software teams, program management, and other stakeholders
• Support planning, progress tracking, and QCD objectives

Your profile

Education

Master’s degree or Engineering degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Telecom, Automation, Robotics, Mechatronics or related field

Experience

• Minimum 5 years of experience in real-time embedded software development
• Strong background in complex system development
• Experience in safety-critical environments (railway, aerospace, automotive,etc.)
• Proven experience in technical leadership or coordination
• Fluent in English and French

Nice to have

• Knowledge of EN 50128 / EN 50716 standards
• Experience in multicultural and multidisciplinary teams
