Pauwels Consulting is seeking a skilled software engineer with a strong AI focus to join their Leuven-based team. You will develop advanced software and AI agents to enhance MES platforms and research workflows, collaborating with engineering teams and data platforms.

The role requires 5+ years of production-grade software experience, expert Python, and fluency in English. The position is full-time with hybrid work (3 days onsite) in Leuven, starting 01/10/2026 for a 2-year term.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a relevant field (CS, SE, AI, DS).
• 5+ years of experience building production-quality software.
• Proficiency in Python and modern software engineering practices.
• Experience with AI technologies (LLMs, AI Agents, RAG, ML).
• Knowledge of Databases, APIs, Cloud Technologies, and Data Engineering.
• Fluent English language proficiency.

Responsabilités

• Develop software and AI solutions to improve R&D and manufacturing efficiency.
• Contribute to evolution of an MES platform and surrounding software ecosystem.
• Create tools to simplify process flow definition, execution, and engineering collaboration.

Our client, a global leader in semiconductor research and development, is seeking a professional to enhance their software and AI capabilities. This role focuses on developing advanced software solutions and AI agents to optimize manufacturing execution systems and research workflows.

• Develop software and AI solutions to improve R&D and manufacturing efficiency.
• Contribute to the evolution of a Manufacturing Execution System (MES) platform and its surrounding software ecosystem.
• Create tools that simplify process flow definition, execution, and engineering collaboration.
• Build applications and services on top of an enterprise data platform.
• Design and implement AI agents, copilots, and automation solutions for engineering teams.

• You possess a Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, or Data Science.
• You bring 5+ years of experience in software development building production-quality applications.
• You have proficiency in Python and modern software engineering practices.
• You have experience with AI technologies such as Large Language Models (LLMs), AI Agents, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and Machine Learning.
• You bring technical knowledge of Databases, APIs, Cloud Technologies, and Data Engineering.
• You are fluent in English.
