uman is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to join our Ghent-based Product & Engineering team. You will shape scalable systems, influence data flows, and elevate code quality while leveraging AI-powered tooling to boost productivity.

You will collaborate across the engineering org, mentor teammates, and help translate product needs into robust technical solutions. This role emphasizes practical, value-driven engineering in a modern tech stack.

We are looking for an experienced Software Engineer to become a core part of our engineering team. You won't just be closing tickets; you will play a key role in defining how our systems scale, how our data flows, and how we maintain code quality as we grow.

What you bring to the table

• Proven Engineering Fluency: You have deep experience in Python or Golang (or a strong background in another backend language and a willingness to switch). You understand the trade-offs in API design, database modeling, and system architecture. You have affinity with frontend (JS & TS).
• A Pragmatic Approach: You know that the "perfect" code is the code that delivers value to the customer and can be maintained by the team. You avoid over-engineering.
• Curiosity for Tooling: You actively look for ways to work smarter, not harder. You are enthusiastic about integrating AI-powered workflows to boost your own velocity and the team's efficiency.
• Collaborative Leadership: You enjoy discussing technical decisions with the team. You are comfortable mentoring junior colleagues, reviewing code with empathy, and fostering a culture of psychological safety.
