EUROCONTROL invites aspiring professionals to join the Skyline Traineeship in IT & Digital Innovation, starting Spring 2027. You will work within a diverse, international team on digital transformation, IT solutions, data management and cyber security in the aviation sector.

This traineeship offers hands-on experience, regular feedback, and exposure to multiple EU sites as part of a structured programme designed to bridge academia and professional practice.

• Developing and automating processes to enhance data management, analysis, and efficiency.

• Contributing to data analytics and visualization development, supporting validation, documentation, and stakeholder communication.
• Leveraging modern platforms to propose solutions and create prototypes demonstrating process improvements.
• Supporting digital transformation initiatives through new tech adoption, training, and stakeholder engagement.

Main learning objectives & tasks

Depending on your educational background and field of interest, you could be:

• Developing and automating processes to enhance data management, analysis, and overall operational efficiency.


• Assessing existing tools and technologies, exploring improvements to enhance scalability, performance, and system architecture.


• Reviewing software specifications, designing and executing tests to ensure product functionality, usability, and security.


• Contributing to data analytics and visualization development, supporting solution validation, documentation, and stakeholder communication.


• Leveraging modern platforms to propose innovative solutions, creating prototypes to demonstrate process improvements.


• Supporting digital transformation initiatives through the implementation of new technologies, providing training, and ensuring stakeholder engagement.

Desired duration

The traineeship runs for a duration of 6 months, starting in Spring 2027, with the Skyline Traineeship Programme start date on 1 April 2027. The traineeship may be extended for up to a total of 12 months.

We are looking for motivated individuals who:

• Are pursuing or have recently completed post-secondary studies in Computer Science, Engineering, IT Management, Data Management, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related technical field;


• Demonstrate strong problem-solving and communication skills to effectively tackle challenges and collaborate with team members;


• Have a proactive attitude and a willingness to learn;


• Have knowledge or motivation to learn relevant programming languages if necessary;


• Are interested in aviation and have a desire to make a positive impact on the industry;


• Enjoy working in a multinational and multicultural environment;


• Share our corporate behaviours, i.e. result-driven, readiness to change, customer focus, integrity and team-player approach.

Our offer

• Valuable and highly marketable work experience ranging from 6 to 12 months with a leading international organisation.


• A monthly allowance tailored to living costs* at our sites of:


• 1,350.00 EUR for trainees based in Brussels and Luxembourg;


• 1,613.25 EUR for trainees based in Brétigny;


• 1,547.10 EUR for trainees based in Maastricht.

Eligibility Criteria

• Please note that the allowances for Brétigny and Maastricht are subject to the cost-of-living weightings which are updated annually.


• Reimbursement of travel expenses to taking up your traineeship, where appropriate, as well as any visa costs incurred by non-EU nationals.


• 2 days of leave per month.


• Up to 50% of teleworking per month with the approval of your mentor.


• A rich learning and mentoring environment, including hands-on training and on-the-job experience with guidance from a dedicated mentor.


• An active and highly welcoming Trainee Community which organises numerous social events.


• A rich traineeship programme structure offering ample learning opportunities to gain insights into EUROCONTROL's operations and functions, including presentations and visits to other sites for enhanced learning experiences.

Useful Information

• The selection and interview phase will take place in December and January.


• All candidates will be informed of the outcome by late February, regardless of the result.
