Syngenia is seeking a consultant for decommissioning and dismantling activities for nuclear units Doel 1, 2, and 3 in Belgium. The successful candidate will provide operational support for existing plants and construction projects, ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards.

The ideal applicant holds a Master’s degree in civil or structural engineering, has at least 5 years of experience in industrial environments, and is fluent in Dutch and either French or English. A robust salary package aligned with experience will be offered.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in an industrial environment, ideally in engineering or contractor organizations.
• Relevant experience in civil works, including design and site follow-up.
• Hold required certifications (FANC clearance, VCA-VOL, BA4).

Mission

• You participate in decommissioning and dismantling activities for nuclear units Doel 1, 2 and 3, including new build works and modifications related to final shutdown.
• You provide operational support to existing plants, including maintenance works and the construction of new industrial structures.
• You act as an interface between Tractebel’s back office, the client, and the contractors executing the works.
• You inspect contractors’ on-site activities and verify compliance with execution drawings and methodologies.
• You ensure the monitoring and compliance of Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) requirements.You manage technical interfaces between the different contractors involved in the project.
• You follow up on design modifications and participate in meetings covering progress, HSE, interfaces, and project challenges.
• You draft work orders, site reports, technical notes, and review contractors’ progress reports.

Profile

• You hold a Master’s degree in civil or structural engineering.
• You have at least 5 years of experience in an industrial environment, ideally within engineering or contractor organizations.
• You have relevant experience in civil works, including design activities and site follow‑up.
• You are fluent in Dutch and in either French or English.
• You communicate clearly, factually, and in a structured way.
• You have strong writing skills for drafting technical documentation.
• You ideally hold required certifications and authorizations (FANC clearance, VCA‑VOL, BA4).
• You are rigorous, autonomous, and able to manage multiple technical interfaces in complex environments.
