Job summary

Burdock Consultants Belgium NV is seeking a Quantity Surveyor for an Antwerp-based construction site project focusing on Mechanical/Qty Surveying within several packages. You will work in a multicultural team and report to the Subcontracts Administrator, then to the Subcontracts Administration Manager.

The ideal candidate has an engineering or technical degree with at least 2 years of experience, strong English skills, and proficiency in MS Office.

Qualifications

• Engineering or technical degree with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in Quantity Surveying for works in industrial plants.
• Dutch language skills are a plus.
• Strong MS Office and complex Excel file abilities.
• Good communication skills.
• Experience working in an integrated team on complex projects.
• Team player.
• Eligible to work in Belgium.
• Available to work at construction site.

Responsibilities

• Check and verify unit price measurements submitted by Contractors against drawings and as-built measurements.
• Prepare bi-weekly reports on measurements for each contract.
• Expedite and ensure timely receipt of measurements from contractors.
• Maintain proper filing of measurements for audits.
• Liaise with Contractors to receive and verify Progress Payment Certificates.
• Check evaluation of extra works requested by contractors/clients.
• Participate in analysis of contractors’ claims.
• Participate in preparation of contract revisions.
• Monitor official correspondence between Wood and Contractors and inform Subcontracts Administrator.
• Participate in weekly subcontracting meetings and produce notes.
• Update subcontracts monthly report with extra work issued.
