Job summary

HumanInTech is seeking a seasoned Windows Server administrator for a Belgian public-sector IT operation in Brussels. You will resolve complex incidents, implement service requests, and manage releases on application servers while maintaining Citrix XenDesktop and RDSH infrastructure. Fluency in Dutch (CEFR C2) is required.

You will join a platform IT operations team in a hybrid Brussels setting, supporting a wide Windows-based ecosystem and ensuring high availability of core services.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of demonstrable experience as a system administrator (setup, management and maintenance of systems).
• Demonstrable knowledge and experience at system engineer level with one specialist system (Unix/Linux/Windows, mainframe, middleware, security, network).
• 5 years of knowledge and experience with Active Directory and Group Policies.
• 5 years of knowledge and experience with Windows Server 2016 or higher.
• 5 years of knowledge with Windows Infrastructure Services (DHCP, DNS, PXE) and firewalling technology.
• 2 years of knowledge with Microsoft 365 technologies (Exchange Online, Teams, Authentication).
• Fluent Dutch at CEFR level C2.

What you will do

You will join the Windows Server Team at a Belgian public-sector organisation, helping to maintain and support their IT infrastructure. Your responsibilities include:

• Resolving second and third-line incidents
• Implementing small service requests related to the offered services
• Executing line-of-business releases on application servers
• Maintaining Citrix XenDesktop Servers and Remote Desktop Session Hosts
• General maintenance and monitoring of the Windows Server environment

What we are looking for

Essential requirements:

• At least 5 years of demonstrable experience as a system administrator (setup, management and maintenance of systems)
• Demonstrable knowledge and experience at system engineer level with at least one specialist system: Unix/Linux/Windows systems, mainframe systems, application middleware (web and application servers), security systems, network and communication
• 5 years of demonstrable knowledge and experience with Microsoft Active Directory and Group Policies
• 5 years of demonstrable knowledge and experience with Windows Server 2016 or higher
• 5 years of demonstrable knowledge and experience with Windows Infrastructure Services (DHCP, DNS, PXE) and firewalling technology
• 2 years of demonstrable knowledge and experience with Microsoft 365 technologies (Exchange Online, Teams, Authentication)
• Fluent Dutch at European CEFR level C2

The setting

This role starts on 16 November 2026 and runs until 30 June 2027. You will work full-time at the organisation's location in the Brussels region, with the possibility of working from home. The working language is Dutch.

You will be part of the IT operations team within the digitalisation and organisation department, responsible for bringing and keeping the entire IT infrastructure in production, both software and hardware.
