WLG seeks a senior platform engineer to own the engineering behind a defence alliance's threat-intelligence platform in Mons, Belgium. You will keep core instances running, extend them, and support daily users and exercises.

You will manage servers, drive deployment architectures, automate with Python and Ansible, and lead a small engineering group. A strong security mindset and English proficiency are essential.

Qualifications

• Ten years of practical experience across the listed areas.
• Experience architecting deployment solutions.
• Experience coordinating a small engineering group.
• System administration on LAMP servers (Linux, Apache, MySQL/MariaDB, PHP).
• Configuring web applications and Python scripting.
• Building MVC web apps with PHP and SQL.
• Strong security knowledge and practices.
• Ability to work autonomously and in teams.
• Excellent organization, communication and analysis.
• Understanding of threats facing web-based products.
• Professional English language skills.
• Bachelor's degree or 10 years of progressive experience as described.

Responsabilités

• Proactively managing and maintaining the servers behind the platform.
• Stand up, configure and run dedicated instances for exercises.
• Keep software current and support test/validation work.
• Configure and extend monitoring around each installation.
• Maintain Ansible playbooks for build and config.
• Write and improve documentation for clarity and usefulness.
• Serve as deployment architecture expert for internal communities.
• Develop and maintain Python scripts for automation and integration.
• Support quality management with content quality rules.
• Support user community with feedback during exercises.
• Lead a team of platform operators during exercises.
• Streamline user management across service management and identity tooling.
• Plan, prepare and deliver online training; build training packages.
• Coordinate the work of a small group of engineers.
