Job summary

Pauwels Consulting seeks a Senior Specialist to maintain and expand backend and endpoint infrastructure for maintenance and diagnostics across a massive endpoint fleet. You will assess upgrades, run feasibility studies, design tech solutions, and execute hardware/software updates to support critical operations.

The role requires deep expertise in Windows/macOS/Linux, Intune, SCCM, AD/GPO/LDAP, and scripting (PowerShell/VBScript).

Qualifications

• 10+ years of system engineering experience in large environments.
• Expertise in backend and endpoint infrastructure for maintenance and diagnostics.
• Fluent in English; Dutch or French a plus.

Responsibilities

Our client, a prominent organization in the transport sector, is seeking a specialist to maintain and expand their backend and endpoint infrastructure. The role focuses on ensuring the continuity and efficiency of technical applications used for maintenance and diagnostics across a massive scale of endpoints.

• Evaluate backend and endpoint infrastructure environments to define upgrades, changes, and improvement proposals.
• Conduct feasibility studies for hardware and software solutions to meet evolving infrastructure needs.
• Develop technical designs in alignment with specific architectural requirements and organizational standards.
• Execute software and hardware upgrades to ensure techniques align with user needs and project goals.
• Provide support and maintenance for the IT infrastructure following ITIL methodologies.
• Deliver technical advice to stakeholders to ensure correct assessment of technological possibilities and limitations.
• Participate in on-call rotations to guarantee optimal availability of critical systems.

• You have 10+ years of relevant experience in system engineering within large environments of at least 100,000 endpoints.
• You possess expertise in software packaging for EXE, MSI, and MSIX using tools like InstallShield or WISE.
• You bring in-depth knowledge of Intune and SCCM for deployment and management.
• You're experienced with Active Directory, GPO, LDAP, and domain configuration.
• You have broad expertise in Azure, including static and dynamic groups and license assignment.
• You possess strong scripting skills in PowerShell and VBScript.
• You bring advanced knowledge of infrastructure stacks based on Windows, MacOS, Linux, Android, and iOS.
• You have experience with application virtualization using App-V and Oracle VM VirtualBox.
• You possess a professional certification such as MCSA, MCSE, or MCSD.
• You are fluent in English, Dutch, or French.

Nice to Haves

• Broad knowledge of networking including TCP/IP, routing, VLAN, DNS, and DHCP.
• Ability to maintain security processes, policies, and standards aligned with business objectives.
