Redwire Space in Kruibeke, Belgium, is seeking a Senior Mechanisms Engineer to own the full development lifecycle of space mechanisms from concept to delivery. You will work with multidisciplinary teams, suppliers, and customers to deliver high-reliability mechanisms for demanding space applications.

Responsibilities include defining requirements, conducting trade studies, and leading verification campaigns, while aligning with ECSS and NASA standards.

Competenze

• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in developing mechanisms or related hardware.
• Experience delivering hardware through multiple phases of the product development lifecycle.
• Experience with requirements management, design reviews, verification planning, and risk management.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a systems mindset.
• Ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams and external partners.
• Previous aerospace experience is a plus; willingness to learn matters.

• Lead the end-to-end development of space-qualified compliant mechanisms and related precision parts.
• Establish and maintain requirements, architectures, and design baselines per ECSS and NASA standards.
• Drive trade-off analyses and engineering decisions throughout development.
• Steer mechanism development across mechanical, electronics, systems, AIT, manufacturing and quality.
• Provide technical oversight of suppliers and support procurement with the Supply Chain team.
• Define and support verification, qualification, and acceptance test campaigns.
• Contribute to customer reviews and present as mechanisms expert during milestones.
• Provide oversight and follow-up for subcontractor mechanism development.
• Ensure technical performance, quality, schedule and cost objectives are met.
