Job summary

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related engineering discipline.
• 3–5 years of experience in mechanisms development or related hardware.
• Experience delivering hardware through concept to qualification and acceptance.
• Experience with requirements management, design reviews, verification planning, and risk management.
• Strong analytical and systems engineering mindset.
• Ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams and external partners.
• Passion for space engineering encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end development of space-qualified mechanisms including latching and precision motion.
• Establish and maintain technical requirements and design baselines per ECSS and NASA standards.
• Drive trade-off analyses and engineering decisions across the development lifecycle.
• Steer mechanism development across mechanical, electronics, systems engineering, AIT, manufacturing, and quality.
• Provide technical oversight of suppliers and support procurement with Supply Chain.
• Define and support verification, qualification, and acceptance test campaigns.
• Contribute to customer reviews and technical presentations as mechanisms expert.
• Provide guidance for subcontractor mechanism development and ensure objectives are met within cost.
