Job Description
The FSMA is currently operating the datacenter edition of the following Atlassian products: Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, and Bamboo. These products are used to manage a DEVSECOPS pipeline, software development projects, documentation wikis, internal service desks, and a CMDB. The FSMA is looking for a highly experienced Senior DevSecOps architect specialized in the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) to assist its DevSecOps engineer with the assessment, design, and implementation of a new self-hosted DevSecOps ecosystem aligned with the organisation’s long‑term IT strategy and to guide the migration to this new system.
A key driver of this initiative is the progressive end of on‑premises support within the Atlassian ecosystem, requiring a structured transition toward alternative solutions. The role must explicitly address the decline of on‑premises Atlassian solutions and define a sustainable alternative aligned with the FSMA’s sovereignty and security requirements.
Objectives
- Maintain control and sovereignty over its tooling (on premises / self‑hosted)
- Reduce vendor lock‑in
- Strengthen security integration across the development lifecycle
- Align the FSMA practices with a DevSecOps model
Mission
The mission combines audit, strategic definition, tooling evaluation, and implementation guidance, with a strong focus on on‑premises infrastructure and Microsoft (.NET) environments. The outcome is an established migration plan and implementation support.
Technical Skills
- Strong experience in the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and DevSecOps architecture
- Hands‑on experience with self‑hosted DevOps platforms
- Experience with ITSM, ticketing, wiki, Git service, CI/CD pipeline design and automation, and Asset Management (CMDB) tools
- Experience with the migration from Atlassian tools to alternative on‑premises solutions
- Experience with application security (SAST, DAST, SCA, secrets management) and package management tools
Preferred Language Skills
- Ideally bilingual in French and Dutch; if not, fluent in one with a very good knowledge of the other (passive knowledge)
Key Competencies
- Ability to conduct audits and deliver actionable insights
- Pragmatic mindset focused on business value
- Experience in Change Management, involving development teams and end‑users
- Analytical and synthetic thinking
- Good communication, interpersonal, and problem‑solving skills
Tasks & Responsibilities
- Current State Assessment
- Review documentation of the existing DevOps ecosystem
- Highlight risks related to security, compliance, and migration
- Assist the DevSecOps Engineer with designing a target architecture (self‑hosted / on‑premises)
- Tooling Evaluation & Recommendations
- Review and extend the list of alternative solutions and products to the Atlassian ecosystem
- Identify migration issues and propose solutions
- Transition Roadmap
- Design a new DevSecOps architecture
- Define a progressive migration strategy away from the current one
- Assess impacts on End‑Users, Development Teams, Security Processes, and Operations
- Assist with reviewing impacted procedures due to the replacement of Atlassian products
