Pauwels Consulting is seeking a senior developer to join a Brussels-based energy sector client’s internal monitoring platform team. You will architect and maintain resilient Python-based software that monitors health and coordinates operational notifications for large-scale energy infrastructure.

You will design and optimize Python services with FastAPI and Pydantic, implement CI/CD pipelines, and ensure security and scalability in event-driven architectures.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional software development experience.
• 3+ years backend development using Python, FastAPI and Pydantic.
• Strong AsyncIO experience.
• Hands-on with SQL databases (MSSQL or PostgreSQL).
• Experience with RabbitMQ and message-driven architectures.
• Knowledge of service-based and event-driven systems.
• Solid understanding of design patterns, data structures, and algorithms.
• Experience implementing IT security requirements in critical infrastructure.
• Experience working in Agile environments.
• Fluent English with good Dutch and/or French.

Responsabilités

• Architect and optimize Python-based applications for core business activities.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define technical specs and requirements.
• Implement code quality, testing, and CI/CD practices.
• Mentor team through code reviews and technical leadership.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues in monitoring and alerting engines.
• Ensure security, scalability and maintainability of event-driven solutions.
