Pauwels Consulting seeks a Senior Security Project Manager for a national security public sector client in Brussels. You will oversee security initiatives, coordinate multiple teams, align schedules, and ensure on-time, within-budget delivery with strong quality controls.

Responsibilities include risk analyses, comprehensive reporting, and stakeholder communication. The role requires onsite presence in Brussels (5 days/week) and is open to permanent or freelance arrangements after security

Qualifications

• 10+ years of project management experience across domains.
• 5+ years of cybersecurity project management.
• Experience coordinating 5+ teams and managing budgets.
• Familiarity with PMBOK, Prince2, or RUP and Agile (Scrum/Kanban/Lean).
• Knowledge of IT security: Networking, Servers, Windows, Linux, Android.
• Experience with compliance reporting and JIRA.

Our client, a public sector organization dedicated to national security, is looking for a Senior Security Project Manager to oversee various security-related initiatives. The role involves coordinating multiple teams, aligning project schedules, and ensuring the smooth rollout of security solutions while managing budgets and quality standards.

• Maintain contact with various team leaders to align planning and report progress to management.
• Manage the full project lifecycle including budget monitoring, quality control, and comprehensive reporting.
• Conduct risk analysis on project plans and proactively propose mitigation strategies or alternatives.
• Communicate technical changes and project updates clearly to diverse stakeholders.
• Coach team members in project follow-up and ensure high-quality documentation.
• Facilitate the integration of traditional project management standards with Agile methodologies across different teams.

• 10+ years of experience in project management across multiple domains.
• 5+ years of specialized experience managing Cybersecurity projects.
• Experience leading and coordinating projects involving at least 5 different teams.
• Proven knowledge of project management standards such as PMBOK, Prince2, or RUP.
• Practical experience with Agile methodologies including Scrum, Kanban, or Lean.
• Experience with Compliance reporting and ticketing systems like JIRA.
• High-level understanding of secure configurations for Networking, Servers, Windows, Linux, and Android.
• Knowledge of IT security frameworks such as NIST CSF, ISO 27001, NIS2, GDPR, or DORA.
• Strong communication skills and a result-oriented, proactive mindset.
• You are fluent in Dutch or French with a solid knowledge of the other language and English.

Nice to Haves

• Basic knowledge of security concepts such as Zero Trust, SIEM, SOAR, PKI, DevSecOps, IAM, and PAM.
• Experience with security monitoring and response tools.
• Willingness to obtain a Top Secret security clearance.
