Job summary

Group IPS in Belgium is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead complex construction projects from definition to close-out. You will coordinate multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and clients to ensure delivery on scope, budget, schedule and safety.

You will apply Civil & Structural Engineering expertise across CS&A works, manage CAPEX initiatives typically €10M–€50M, and report to stakeholders while maintaining high-quality results in international contexts.

Qualifications

• A degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Building Engineering or equivalent.
• Around 10+ years of experience in civil engineering, architecture, project management, real estate or industrial construction.
• Proven experience managing CAPEX projects, ideally above €20M.
• Strong knowledge of civil works, structures, building design and construction planning.
• Fluency in Dutch and English; other languages are a plus.

Responsibilities

Belgium | Senior | Civil & Structural Engineering | EPCM Projects

As a Senior Project Manager at Group IPS, you'll lead complex construction projects from project definition and design to procurement, construction and project close-out.

You'll combine technical knowledge of civil, structural and architectural works (CS&A) with project leadership, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, contractors and clients while managing project scope, budget, schedule, quality, risks and safety.

What you'll do

As Senior Project Manager, you will:

• Lead complex construction projects throughout the full project lifecycle.
• Manage multidisciplinary teams across engineering, procurement, planning, contracts and construction.
• Act as the main point of contact for clients, ensuring alignment on scope, budget, schedule and risks.
• Manage project scope, budget, planning, quality, safety and stakeholder expectations.
• Coordinate project documentation, including execution plans, schedules, risk registers and reports.
• Ensure coordination between design disciplines, contractors and client stakeholders.
• Review technical solutions to ensure constructability, maintainability and cost-effectiveness.
• Coordinate procurement activities, including technical specifications, bid evaluations and negotiations.
• Monitor contractor performance, progress, quality, safety and change orders.
• Lead project meetings and report critical issues with clear recommendations.
• Identify project risks and coordinate mitigation measures.

Depending on the project, your work can include:

• Real estate and industrial construction projects.
• Civil works, structures, architecture, utilities and MEP.
• Greenfield and brownfield investments.
• Coordination between design, permitting, procurement, construction and client operations.
• CAPEX projects typically ranging from €10M to €50M, including an initial project of approximately €35M in the education sector.

Requirements

• A degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Building Engineering, Construction Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
• Around 10+ years of experience in civil engineering, architecture, project management, real estate or industrial construction.
• Proven experience managing projects with significant CAPEX, ideally above €20M
• Strong knowledge of civil works, structures, building design and construction planning.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing contractors.
• Ability to manage project scope, budget, schedule, risks, quality and client communication.
• Good understanding of procurement, contract management and project reporting
• Professional working proficiency in Dutch and English.
• Technical expertise
• Experience in several of the following areas:
• Civil and structural engineering (CS&A).
• Building construction and technical coordination.
• Utilities and MEP coordination.
• CAPEX project management.
• Procurement and contract management.
• Contractor management and risk control.
• Project scheduling and reporting.
• Project management tools such as MS Project, Primavera P6, Excel, Revit, Navisworks or AutoCAD.

Nice to have

• Good working proficiency in French.
• Experience with complex industrial construction projects.
