Job summary

HumanInTech is seeking a seasoned project leader to run initiatives in a higher education setting. You will guide multidisciplinary teams, ensure delivery on scope, budget, planning and quality, and remain purely managerial without taking on technical design or execution tasks.

The role is full-time, based on-site in Belgium with a hybrid setup and three fixed on-site days per week, starting mid-November 2026 and running through November 2028.

Qualifications

• Higher education degree (bachelor or master).
• 5+ years leading and guiding projects.
• 5+ years assembling multidisciplinary teams without taking on technical design.
• 5+ years steering on scope, budget, planning and quality.
• Experience with steering committee reporting, escalation and decisions.
• Experience with project management terminology, organisation, roles and processes.
• At least 1 year of demonstrable experience in the academic or public sector.
• Fluent Dutch at CEFR level C2.

What you will do

You will lead and guide projects within a higher education environment, steering multidisciplinary teams and ensuring delivery on scope, budget, planning and quality. Your role is purely managerial: you will not take on technical design or execution tasks yourself.

Your responsibilities include:

• Leading and guiding projects from start to finish
• Assembling and managing multidisciplinary teams
• Steering integrally on scope, budget, planning and quality
• Managing steering committees: preparing reports, escalations and decisions
• Applying project management methodology, terminology, organisation, roles and processes

What we are looking for

Essential requirements:

• Higher education degree (bachelor or master)
• At least 5 years of demonstrable experience in leading and guiding projects
• At least 5 years of experience assembling and managing multidisciplinary teams, without taking on a technical design or execution role yourself
• At least 5 years of experience with integral steering on scope, budget, planning and quality
• Experience with steering committee management: reporting, escalation and preparing decisions
• Demonstrable experience with project management methodology terminology, organisation, roles and processes
• At least 1 year of demonstrable experience in the academic or public sector
• Fluent Dutch at European CEFR level C2

Desirable experience:

• Experience in environments similar to those in which the projects are situated
• Experience with Jira and Confluence
• 5 years of experience with Prince2
• Knowledge and experience with ITIL

The setting

This assignment runs from mid-November 2026 until November 2028. You will work full-time with a minimum of three fixed days per week on site, plus additional days as required by the work, for example for meetings. The working location is in Belgium.

You will work in Dutch at native level.
