Job summary

Planet is seeking a Pre-Sales Sr. Solutions Architect to design complex demonstrations of our data services for NATO customers. You will collaborate with Customer Success, Product Management, and Business Development to articulate customer needs and craft technical responses.

This full-time remote role is based in the Netherlands or Belgium, with up to 25% travel and occasional office days if nearby. You’ll lead technical engagements and mentor teammates while shaping defence and intelligence

Qualifications

• 6+ years of relevant work experience supporting the NATO community in a technical capacity.
• Ability to travel internationally up to 25%.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Professional working proficiency in English.
• Expertise with GIS and Remote Sensing in the Defense sector.
• Experience with IMINT, ISR, and related fields.
• Experience with GIS tools and programming languages.
• Ability to design complex systems bridging business and technology.
• Ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving and proactive working style.
• Ability to multitask and manage time effectively.
• Ability to process imagery and build data pipelines.
• Ability to lead technical customer engagements.
• Ability to run workshops or training sessions.
• NATO security clearance eligibility required.

Responsibilities

• Architect and deliver demonstrations and presentations highlighting Planet’s data capabilities.
• Build trusted relationships with customers’ technical and management staff.
• Advise on solutions architecture to fit customer needs within NATO contexts.
• Craft technical responses to tenders, RFIs/RFPs, and proposals.
• Partner with sales to shape technical strategy across accounts.
• Collaborate with internal teams to reflect customer voice in proposals and submissions.
• Meet quarterly and annual sales and operations objectives.
• Represent defense and intelligence customer needs to Sales leaders.
