Job summary

Pauwels Consulting seeks an expert to define and maintain the coherence of the client’s network and security architectures in Brussels. You will lead architectural design, ensure alignment with NIS2 and corporate transformation goals, and act as a technical reference for build and run teams while guiding strategic initiatives.

The role requires 8+ years in network architecture with IP routing, switching, MPLS, HSRP/VRRP, WiFi, Cisco ACI, ExpressRoute, Netskope, and 5+ years in Palo Alto

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in network architecture and related technologies.
• 8+ years of defining roadmaps and reference architectures.
• 5+ years of experience with Palo Alto Firewalls, WAF, VPN, and Proxy technologies.
• 3+ years of scripting for network tasks.
• Fluency in English; native or bilingual in Dutch or French preferred.

Our client, a major organization in the public transport sector, is seeking an expert to define and maintain the coherence of their network and security architectures. This role involves technical leadership on strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment with regulatory standards like NIS2 and corporate transformation goals.

• Define the technological roadmap and reference architectures for network and security platforms.
• Ensure architectural compliance with security requirements, resilience standards, and NIS2 regulations.
• Lead technical design for strategic projects by producing High-Level (HLD) and Low-Level Designs (LLD).
• Evaluate emerging technologies to propose evolution trajectories and rationalize the IT landscape.
• Act as a technical reference for build and run teams while facilitating knowledge transfer.

• 8+ years of experience in network architecture including IP Routing, Switching, MPLS, HSRP/VRRP, and WiFi.
• 8+ years of experience defining technological roadmaps and reference architectures.
• 8+ years of expertise with Cisco ACI, Express Route, and Netskope.
• 8+ years of experience in automation and Project Management within technical environments.
• 5+ years of experience with Palo Alto Firewalls, WAF, VPN, and Proxy technologies.
• 5+ years of experience with Algosec and Load Balancing solutions.
• 3+ years of experience in scripting for network tasks.
• You possess the flexibility to handle occasional night and weekend on-site operations.
• You are native or bilingual in Dutch or French with professional working proficiency in English.
