Job summary

In4Matic seeks an experienced Network & Security Engineer to design, implement and optimize secure IT infrastructure. You will handle firewalls, SD-WAN, VPN, and wireless networks while improving automation and documentation across hybrid environments.

You will collaborate with engineers and architects, troubleshoot complex incidents and share knowledge to raise the team's technical proficiency. Dutch and English proficiency are required.

Qualifications

• Multiple years of experience in Network Engineering or related infra roles.
• Hands-on experience with Cisco, Aruba, Fortinet, Juniper, SD-WAN, and wireless networks.
• Strong knowledge of FortiGate, Check Point, VPN, Zero Trust, NAC and security monitoring.
• Familiarity with cloud/hybrid networking, esp. Azure or Cloudflare.
• Experience with PowerShell, scripting, automation and Wireshark.
• Analytical, troubleshooting skills with root-cause focus.
• Structured, proactive problem-solving and documentation.
• Strong communication and collaboration with stakeholders.
• Dutch and English language proficiency; French is a plus.

We're looking for an experienced Network & Security Engineer to join our client's technical team. In this role, you'll combine hands-on network management with challenging security projects, helping organizations build, maintain and optimize secure, reliable IT infrastructures.

You'll work on everything from complex firewall configurations and network troubleshooting to modern network architectures, hybrid cloud connectivity and automation. Your Profile

• Several years of professional experience in Network Engineering, Network Security or a similar infrastructure role.

• Hands-on experience with networking technologies such as Cisco, Aruba, Fortinet, Juniper, SD-WAN and wireless networking.

• Solid knowledge of security technologies, including FortiGate, Check Point, VPN, Zero Trust, Network Access Control (NAC) and security monitoring.

• Familiarity with cloud and hybrid networking, preferably involving Microsoft Azure or Cloudflare.

• Experience with or a strong interest in PowerShell, scripting, automation and diagnostic tools such as Wireshark.

• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to identify root causes rather than relying on temporary fixes.

• A structured, proactive approach to technical problem-solving, documentation and knowledge sharing.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with technical colleagues and stakeholders.

• Languages: Professional proficiency in Dutch and English is required. Knowledge of French is an advantage.
