Hitachi Energy is seeking a Payroll Specialist to support Belgium within the Northern Europe HUB. You will ensure accurate and timely payroll delivery, coordinating with an outsourced provider and collaborating with HR, Finance, and stakeholders to maintain compliant payroll processes.

The role covers the full employee lifecycle from onboarding to offboarding, with emphasis on Belgium payroll compliance and continuous improvement.

• Experience delivering payroll in a shared services or outsourced environment.
• Strong knowledge of Belgium payroll processes and legislation.
• High accuracy with payroll data and lifecycle events.
• Proven stakeholder management across HR, Finance, and external providers.

Responsabilités

• Manage end-to-end payroll processing with the partner to ensure timely inputs.
• Own payroll validations, reconciliations, and post-payroll checks.
• Apply Belgium statutory requirements, deductions, benefits, and lifecycle events.
• Collaborate with HR on starters, changes, absences, and leavers.
• Maintain payroll controls to ensure GDPR compliance and policy adherence.
• Handle payroll queries with timely, service-minded resolution.
• Support payroll reporting, audits, and process improvements across Belgium.

The opportunity

Join our Northern Europe HUB Payroll team and play a key role in delivering a seamless payroll experience in a dynamic, fast-paced shared services environment.

This opportunity is a permanent Payroll Specialist position supporting Belgium.

You will support the accurate and timely delivery of payroll services, working closely with an outsourced payroll provider and collaborating with HR, Finance, and other stakeholders to ensure a consistent, compliant, and reliable payroll process.

This role offers the opportunity to contribute across the full employee lifecycle, ensuring payroll accuracy from onboarding through to offboarding.

With a strong focus on Belgium payroll processes, local compliance, collaboration, service excellence, and continuous improvement, this is a highly visible and impactful position within the Northern Europe HUB Payroll team.

How You'll Make An Impact

• Manage end-to-end payroll processing with the Payroll Partner, ensuring all inputs are accurate and submitted on time.
• Own payroll inputs, validations, reconciliations, and post-payroll checks to ensure outputs are accurate and aligned.
• Apply strong understanding of Belgium payroll processes, statutory requirements, deductions, benefits, and employee lifecycle events.
• Partner with HR to ensure accurate payroll processing across starters, contractual changes, absences, and leavers.
• Maintain robust payroll controls and ensure compliance with internal policies, audit standards, GDPR, and relevant Belgian legislation.
• Manage payroll queries and transactional requests, ensuring timely, accurate, and service-minded resolution.
• Support payroll reporting, audits, documentation requirements, and process improvements across Belgium and the Northern Europe HUB.

Your Background

• Proven experience in payroll within shared services, HR operations, or outsourced payroll environments.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Belgium payroll processes and employment legislation.
• Solid understanding of payroll reconciliations, controls, audits, and compliance requirements.
• Experience working with external payroll providers.
• High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and problem-solving capability.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively across countries and functions.
• Fluent in French, Dutch, and English.
• Experience with Workday and ServiceNow would be advantageous.
