Hitachi ABB Power Grids is seeking a permanent Payroll Specialist to support Belgium within the Northern Europe HUB Payroll team. You’ll ensure accurate, timely payroll processing in collaboration with an outsourced provider, HR, and Finance, across the employee lifecycle.
Key responsibilities include inputs, validations, reconciliations, and post-payroll checks, with strong emphasis on Belgian regulations and data integrity.
Join our Northern Europe HUB Payroll team and play a key role in delivering a seamless payroll experience in a dynamic, fast-paced shared services environment. This opportunity is a permanent Payroll Specialist position supporting Belgium. You will support the accurate and timely delivery of payroll services, working closely with an outsourced payroll provider and collaborating with HR, Finance, and other stakeholders to ensure a consistent, compliant, and reliable payroll process.
This role offers the opportunity to contribute across the full employee lifecycle, ensuring payroll accuracy from onboarding through to offboarding. With a strong focus on Belgium payroll processes, local compliance, collaboration, service excellence, and continuous improvement, this is a highly visible and impactful position within the Northern Europe HUB Payroll team.

Manage end-to-end payroll processing with the Payroll Partner, ensuring all inputs are accurate and submitted on time.
Own payroll inputs, validations, reconciliations, and post-payroll checks to ensure outputs are accurate and aligned.
Apply strong understanding of Belgium payroll processes, statutory requirements, deductions, benefits, and employee lifecycle events.
Partner with HR to ensure accurate payroll processing across starters, contractual changes, absences, and leavers.
Maintain robust payroll controls and ensure compliance with internal policies, audit standards, GDPR, and relevant Belgian legislation.
Manage payroll queries and transactional requests, ensuring timely, accurate, and service-minded resolution.
Support payroll reporting, audits, documentation requirements, and process improvements across Belgium and the Northern Europe HUB.
Proven experience in payroll within shared services, HR operations, or outsourced payroll environments.
Demonstrated knowledge of Belgium payroll processes and employment legislation.
Solid understanding of payroll reconciliations, controls, audits, and compliance requirements.
Experience working with external payroll providers.
High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and problem-solving capability.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively across countries and functions.
Fluent in French, Dutch, and English.
Experience with Workday and ServiceNow would be advantageous.
