ABB’s Robotics & Discrete Automation division seeks a Senior Site Manager to lead on-site execution of automation projects. You will coordinate activities, supervise subcontractors, and drive safety, quality and timely commissioning at customer sites across Belgium and beyond.

You will coach technicians, read electrical drawings, and ensure engineering intent is correctly translated into on-site execution while maintaining a hands-on, pragmatic mindset and strong ownership.

Qualifications

• Technical degree in electricity, electromechanics or automation.
• Strong experience in on-site execution of industrial automation, preferably in intralogistics.
• Proven ability to lead and coach technical teams on-site.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and documentation.
• Hands-on, pragmatic and solution-oriented mindset.
• Strong ownership, safety awareness and quality focus.
• Good communication with colleagues, customers and partners in a professional manner.
• Willing to travel and work on-site the majority of time in Belgium or abroad.
• Fluent in Dutch or French with good English knowledge.

Responsabilités

• Lead and coordinate on-site activities.
• Coordinate and supervise external suppliers and subcontractors on-site.
• Take ownership of on-site coordination.
• Organize safety introductions for ABB colleagues and subcontractors on site.
• Organize, document and lead toolbox meetings.
• Ensure compliance with safety rules and procedures.
• Act as the main on-site contact for the customer and other stakeholders.
• Coach, guide and supervise a team of technicians.
• Explain tasks and technical concepts; set priorities for work.
• Monitor progress and quality; provide on-the-job guidance and feedback.
• Bridge between Electrical Engineering and on-site technicians to translate engineering intent.
• Contribute on-site with hands-on installation, troubleshooting and commissioning.
• Perform basic commissioning activities such as IO testing and validations.
• Identify issues or deviations and provide feedback to engineering teams.
